About Us
artBURSTS popped up onto the scene in the summer of 2020. It was created to continue bringing arts to community at a time where there was none due to the Covid Pandemic (2020- approximately 2022). Building on the success of #ArtFindsUs, we continued to unleash art in the streets of Denver by collaborating with partners, artists, and supporters to bring this initiative to life.
Featuring free pop-up performances for audiences to experience the joy a burst of art brings, artBURSTS was a family-friendly, mobile art event that uplifted individuals and compensated local artists, especially women/women of color. ArtBURSTS brought local musicians in pedicabs, billboard trucks with visual artwork displayed, and a mobile stage which showcased dance, comedy, and spoken word to diverse communities.
Americans for the Arts reports that approximately half of organizations with in-person programming remained closed to the public in 2021, with 49% having no targeted reopen date.
