artBURSTS: Cherry Creek North Live & Local

Join us for Cherry Creek North’s Live & Local event taking place every Saturday in June from 12pm-7pm. Throughout the neighborhood, watch and listen while patios and storefronts become pop up stages for live musicians to perform on! Come for just one musician or spend the day traveling between the stages and catching snippets of them all!
Where: Various locations within the Cherry Creek North Neighborhood
When: June 3, 10, 17, and 24 starting every half hour at a different location starting at 12pm until 7pm

Our Artists

Amy Biondo
Amy Biondo is a Boulder-area vocalist, composer, and vocal empowerment coach. Her original compositions are rhythmically complex with evocative lyrics and innovative arrangements, jazz at the heart but heavily peppered with pop, R&B, and Latin American influences. Amy also writes custom love songs for special events. Her unique approach to training the voice, using contemplative practices and improvisation to unleash the full power of the body and emotions of the student and integrate them into the voice, has made her a go-to vocal coach for those seeking a more holistic approach to vocal training.

Athena Tang
Athena Tang’s love for music developed at an early age. Classically trained and self-taught, she immersed herself in classical, jazz, and musical theater, mastering the flute, saxophones, horn, bass trombone, piano, voice, and other instruments. She showcased versatility in concert bands, orchestras, big bands, pit orchestras, and drum corps; and teaching elementary bands and private lessons, hosting flute choir rehearsals, and volunteering at high schools before pursuing a planetary sciences career and relocating to Colorado. Still, Athena chips at her own musical’s progressive compositions while sharing music via several ensembles and as a recent guest pianist for Happy Dagger Theater.

Back to the Mountain
Back to the Mountain draws on the strength of the bones of traditional old time and bluegrass music as a platform to explore unique interpretations of these beloved songs. Add to that their haunting, relevant and at times heartbreaking original songs and powerful vocal performances for an entertaining and memorable Colorado music experience.

Bailey Elora
Bailey Elora is a singer-songwriter based out of Denver, Colorado.She has over 9 years of industry experience in songwriting, collaboration, performance, and music production. Her music career started at an early age, from singing in children’s choirs to later writing her own songs and starting her own band. Since then, she has developed a true love for singing and music. Her unique ability to sing in various genres, coupled with her exciting upbeat performances have propelled her forward and allowed her to perform and share the spotlight with many reputable local, national, and international artists. Bailey Elora is available for 2-piece to 5-piece performances. Her music is distributed worldwide through Sony/The Orchard.

Carrie Jennings
Carrie Jennings is a trumpet player and vocalist from Reno, Nevada. She received a Bachelor of Music degree in classical trumpet performance from the University of Denver in 2014 and has been living and performing in Denver for over a decade. She plays with indie soul band Mama Magnolia, and is also a professional North Indian classical dancer. She manages and dances with Leela Dance Collective, an internationally touring women-led dance company, and helped establish Leela Denver with her teacher and mentor Dr. Sarah Morelli, offering educational opportunities and performances across Colorado since 2016. After years of collaborating with incredible musicians from many different genres, she is thrilled to now be performing as a solo artist and sharing her tender tunes with the world.

Emelise
Emelise is a 17 year old singer/songwriter musician from Denver whose passion for making music often has her listeners referring to her as an old soul. Her style is a folk-rock, Americana blend. Emelise has been playing live music in front of crowds since she was six years old. Just recently she was in the studio and recorded her first EP titled On My Way produced by Brad Corrigan from Dispatch. Emelise enjoys street performing which has led to her booking shows across the country at coffee shops, farmers markets, microbreweries, festivals, and music venues. She has presented in premiere events, including TedX Uncommon in Denver, Move the Dial in Toronto, LA’s Winston House, and the Denver Women’s March. In 2017 Emelise placed first in The Stars of Tomorrow Competition at the world famous New York’s Apollo Theatre. She has been featured in Denver’s 5280 Magazine as “Country’s Next New Rising Star” and in 303 magazine as “The 13-year old Soon-to-be Star Taking Over Denver.” Emelise just finished recording her self-titled debut album which will be released on all major platforms soon!

Janine Gastineau
Vocalist Janine Gastineau sings and swings jazz with verve & assurance; performs show tunes and standards with style, emotion and an actor’s phrasing; and sings samba & bossa nova in Portuguese and chanson in French. About Janine, jazz critic and historian Scott Yanow wrote: “Janine has an attractive, distinctive and often-haunting voice that is quietly expressive. Whether straight ahead jazz, ballads or bossa nova, she creates fresh and colorful interpretations that make the vintage songs not only sound relevant but brand new.” You can hear Janine’s music on Spotify or iTunes, and on her website janinegastineau.com.

Jean-Marie
Jean-Marie is a singer who specializes in Vintage Jazz Standards from the 1920s – 1960s in Swing, Latin and Ballad styles from sultry to bright! An emotive femme crooner, Jean-Marie is supported by a variety of accomplished jazz musicians.

Jesse Maclaine
Often compared to Tori Amos or Regina Spektor, singer-songwriter-pianist Jesse Maclaine debuted as a professional musician at age 16 and became a recording artist by age 18. Five years later she collaborated with friends at RCA Studios Nashville to produce her premiere LP as Aural Elixir. Based in Denver since 2002 and seasoned by over two decades as a performer and composer, her dynamic blend of pop, rock, jazz and folk music is beloved by colleagues, critics, and fans across the globe.

Jordan Yewey
Born and raised in Colorado, Jordan was musically inclined form a very young age, writing her first song at 8 and learning to play the guitar and keyboard shortly thereafter. The great grand daughter of a farmer and songwriter she grew up with his old steel guitar in her living room and although it was supposed to be off limits, she took to playing it any chance she got. She’s made a local name for herself playing all over the state, garnering attention for her engaging acoustic sets and boisterous vocals.

Korey Foss
Korey Foss is a singer and songwriter with a beautiful, powerful voice that can move people to transcendence. She is here to inspire the world with her profound emotional responses to music, art, nature, and the people around her. She is seen in her glory as a singer, communicator, and advocate inspiring people to believe in themselves, be who they are, leaving them inspired and empowered.

Kristi Stice
Kristi Stice is a professional musician, vocalist, and songwriter. She received a degree in jazz vocals in 2007 from the University of North Florida in Jacksonville and returned to her home state of Colorado in 2010. After two years of performing with well-known songwriters and musicians in Denver, Kristi proudly introduced an album of original songs titled, “Under the Willow,” which was released on January 26, 2013. She performed as a vocalist with a Gypsy Jazz band in the Denver area called Gypsy Swing Revue, a Django Reinhardt inspired Parisian jazz band. The band released an album titled, “I Love Paris,” in January of 2017.

Lannie Shelton
Lannie Shelton is a fourth generation Denverite who has been teaching a full studio of violin students and performing violin in the Rocky Mountain region for the past 12 years.

Megan Burtt
Megan Burtt is a performing songwriter. She has played music on almost every continent, summited Mt. Kilimanjaro and survived a gluten free diet for a decade now. She and Oprah share the same enneagram number. She wishes she’d learned music in a Southern Gospel church and dreams of becoming an olive farmer in Spain. And, you never know, life is a long time.. and longing is a great source of inspiration. Megan latest fourth full-length record is set to release in fall 2023.

Meghan Clarisse
Meghan Clarisse is a folksy singer songwriter with country roots and cowboy boots. Playing your favorite country, rock, and blues covers and originals, this songbird delivers poignant stories laced with emotion and passion. Her influences include Sheryl Crow, Steve Earle, Patty Griffin, Dolly Parton and The Turnpike Troubadours. Meghan plays guitar and piano, sings, and writes songs. Her recent recording project, ‘Songs From The Sofa’ is available everywhere online February 12th, 2023. She performs with her full band (Meghan and Her Cavemen) and also regularly with Steve Jourdan (also a Caveman) in a duo they call Meg & The Old Man. She plays for Musicians On Call, a program that brings the healing power of music to the bedsides of patients in healthcare facilities. She’s got the glam and the grit and music you don’t want to miss!

Melinda Hagan
Melinda Hagan is a country singer who enjoys performing a wide variety of songs. She was a recent guest on the Merlin Gene Show in Nashville, TN. Born and raised in the south, Melinda has a deep appreciation of country and blues music and has a genuine enjoyment of performing live. Melinda recently released an album entitled “Back In Town”. The album consists of some old country standards and original tunes.

Nicole May
Nicole has been performing professionally for 20 years. Nicole enjoys teaching and performing all types of music and loves to share her passion for singing and performing with others. Most recently you might have seen her as the Witch in “Into The Woods” at the Arvada Center or at DCPA in The Other Josh Cohen. She is currently the understudy for “Miss Rhythm The Legend of Ruth Brown” at DCPA.

Nina de Freitas
Nina de Freitas is a singer-songwriter currently based in Denver, CO. Born in Brazil to musician parents, she has been making music all of her life. She has performed at many beloved Colorado venues and notably took the main stage at The Underground Music Showcase in 2018. She has been hailed in Colorado media for her evocative songs and vocals that inspire and impress.

Paloma Ress
Paloma Ress is a jazz bassist and vocalist who admires the values that come from the tradition of jazz music; community, communication, and expression. Every performance desires to honor the spirit of Jazz which creates an honest and spirited atmosphere every time.

Pamela Machala
“Pamela Machala artfully turns a phrase and yet still manages to make us dance…[her] piano-rich gems are in the storyteller vein of Ben Folds and Sara Bareilles, yet they are distinctly hers.” – Colorado Daily Colorado-based singer, songwriter, and pianist Pamela Machala (“MOCK-uh-luh”) writes “pop music for deeper listening” (BolderBeat) with influences ranging from jazz & soul to musical theater & folk. She was awarded the Grand Prize in the 2019 SongDoor International Songwriting Competition for her song “Bleeding Me Dry,” and has opened for artists including Lisa Loeb and Rachel Price.

Roadside Distraction
Emily Wilson is a Colorado based musician. Plays with the band Roadside Distraction. She has a bachelors of music from Metropolitan State University. She is an instructor at American Music School.
Roma Ransom
“Great music should do three things- connect you to the past, inspire you to envision the future, and find you wholly in the present moment. Roma Ransom does all three. Their repertoire includes old-time traditional ballads like Shady Grove and St.James Infirmary as well as sounds from European cultures, mainly that of Romania (hence the duo’s name) yet the music of Roma Ransom is distinctly their own. The sultry sweetness of Grace Easley on vocals paired with the couples’ vast instrumental array combine to form a style that can fit the mood for any setting.”

Sam Matras
Sam Matras has loved singing and creating music since she was a child. She learned to play guitar at age 14 inspired by her father, who would often often play classic rock and folk rock tunes on his guitar while she was growing up. Sam works at a non-profit that serves youth in foster care and finds music is one the best ways to connect with the kids.

Samantha Erin
Samantha Erin is a local musician based in Northern Colorado. From her soothing vocals to the melodies of acoustic guitar, you are sure to have an enjoyable time. Samantha is making her mark in the Northern Colorado scene with her solo acoustic sets, as well as two local projects. Female group Fancy Bits, and her classic rock band Canyon Echos. This year, Samantha won the Northern Colorado Songwriter Series, hosted by Braydon Peterson. This title has granted Samantha opportunities to record more original music, play local festivals, and be featured on the radio! Samantha is grateful to share her joy in music with her community and hopes to share relatable songs for everyone to enjoy.

Sunrise Drive
Dawn Cheairs is a world-class procrastinator, beginning her career in music at nineteen in Golden, Colorado. Thousands of live performances and several studio albums later, Dawn just can’t stop writing and performing. Whether it’s playing bass and belting with her full-on altrock band, Sunrise Drive, or feeding the quiet with an acoustic guitar, Dawn Cheairs is the exuberant frontwoman you won’t want to miss.

Tiana Thakur is a multi-instrumentalist and vocalist that specializes in bringing soul to any genre she pursues. She has been performing music since she was young, and continues to push boundaries with her unique style and passion for music. Tiana loves to bring music to the masses and share her heart and soul on stage.

Tenia Nelson
Tenia Nelson is an award winning pianist, percussionist, composer and arranger, LifeForce Jazz Records artist and educator. Tenia has 20+ years teaching experience in all levels of education (early childhood through university).In addition to teaching, Tenia performs regularly at jazz venues in the Denver metro area with her two bands; Tenia Nelson Trio and Spherio
