Artfully Minded Workshop

Calling all 6th to 10th Grade girls and nonbinary youth!! Join us on Saturday, September 28, 2024 from 10:30-12:00 pm for an Artfully Minded Workshop of Poetry led by Honey B. Honest.

This FREE workshop will be held at The Hub in 40 West Arts, 6501 W Colfax Ave, Lakewood, CO 80214. You are invited to bring your personal journal or fun notebook to scribble and create in, but know we will have writing supplies on hand so you can just bring yourself!

This workshop is part of Girls Create, which empowers girls and nonbinary youth to lead and effect change in themselves and others through creative learning. This program seeks to encourage girls to tap into their creativity, gain confidence, and do what they love in the arts. We hope you will consider participating in this special event!

Teaching Artist: Honey B. Honest

Honest is a pro-black multifaceted visual and performance artist from Denver Colorado. Artistically, she is a poet and host at Mercury Cafe’s Sunday night open mic and slam, and has partnered with organizations that aim to offer artistic opportunities to communities in need such as The Gathering Place, Redline Art Gallery, Art Restart and Boulevard One.

Many describe her performances as thought provoking, energetic, and relatable. The stories told through her poetry are personal accounts aimed to dismantle harmful societal norms, cope with traumatic experiences, and inspire listeners and readers to practice healing and self-care.
