Deadline for “3rd Annual Women In Their Infinite Forms” Submission

WE NEED ARTISTS!  SUBMIT YOUR IDEA BY JANUARY 2!

Join us to celebrate our 3rd year of an arts installation taking place at Milk Market and Dairy Block called Women In Their Infinite Forms to celebrate Women’s History Month. 

WHAT:  Using a provided mirror on a stand and materials of your choosing, create an art piece with the theme of Women In Their Infinite Forms

WHEN:  From your design proposal, if selected, your piece will be part of an Installation taking place at various venues in and around the Denver Milk Market and Dairy Block from March 1-31, celebrating Women’s History Month.

An Artist Reception called “Art Strut” will be held at Venture X, an art-forward co-working space located on 2nd floor above Dairy Block on International Women’s Day, March 8, from 5pm-8pm. 

Other Details for “Art Strut” Reception:

• 5-5:45PM Private networking reception for Artists
• 5:45-6:30PM VIP reception for tenants & special guests of Dairy Block & Athena Project
• 6:30-8PM Friends, family & general public reception

The artwork will go back to its designated venue for viewing again on March 9, 2023.

WHO:  This Installation is co-presented by Athena Project* in collaboration with Denver Milk Market and Dairy Block.  We are looking for artists who reside in Colorado and/or be willing to travel (at their own expense) to deliver the completed mirror by Feb 27 and attend the Art Strut reception on March 8.

PAYMENT:  This is a paid commission opportunity of $500 per mirror design, split as follows:  

• $100 upon being selected to submit a full design (notified by approximately Jan 12)
• $100 upon design approval for materials (notified by approximately Jan 31)
• $300 upon completed mirror design (due Feb 27)

Payment will be made for the designs via mail.  Payment for materials will be made upon picking up the mirror with stand from Milk Market (exact location TBD).  Final payment for the work will be on February 27 between 10am-12pm upon delivery of the completed design.

DEADLINE TO SUBMIT YOUR IDEA: Midnight, Monday, January 2, 2023

Public Timeline:

• Jan 2 at Midnight – is deadline for all proposal submissions
• Jan 5, 6, 7–Review all proposals to narrow down to 20 concepts/invitations for interviews
• Jan 8, 9, 10 –Interview semi-finalist artists
• Jan 11-12–Narrow down 20 artists to final 10
• Jan 13–Final 10 Artists invited to submit full designs
• Jan 27–Midnight is deadline from 10 finalists for full designs
• Jan 31—Artists notified of design acceptance/no modifications
• Mon Feb 27–Drop off of work at Dairy Block between 10am-noon
• Celebration planned for March 8 (International Women’s Day)
