Opening Celebration of Blossom House

November 16, 2024 @ 11:00 am - 3:00 pm MST

You are invited to Lifespan Locals’ First Look Celebration at Blossom House on Saturday, November 16th between 11am-3pm! Located at 3300 W Nevada Place, Denver, CO, this community hub will include an early childhood education center, the Lena Archuleta Branch Library, a community kitchen, youth discovery lab, and various community gathering spaces

The opening celebration will include tours, carnival games, kids activities, and food trucks. You’ll also be able to enjoy live entertainment by artists specially curated by Athena Project!

So come on down for a fun time and connect with the community!!

Meet Our Artists

Baile Caliente

Ballet Folklorico Baile Caliente is a local Denver folkloric dance group under direction of Tamara Vigil. They have been sharing the art of Mexican ballet folklorico with audiences since 2010. Baile Caliente takes joined together for the love of dance, and community. Their goal is to share culture in and bring the energy of to every stage, both large and small.

They have performed across Colorado to honor cultural events and holidays through community events like Denver Parade of Lights, Tigres del Norte Denver/Albuquerque Tour, as well as in collaboration for the National Western Stock show and Levitt Pavilion.

Nomvula Munnie

Nomvula Munnie is an indigenous creative who is a storyteller. She uses music, dance and theatre to create spaces of cultural and music cohesion. All the way from South Africa she has toured the US as part of an ensemble 29:11 International Exchange from 2021 to 2023. Her passion is artist development and she works with youths who are part of her 4 piece and 7 piece ensemble.

These artists are coming from horrific backgrounds but choose to use music as healing and connecting instruments to amplify human kindness, Ubuntu. Her music is afrofusion with traces of the African and global sounds that influenced soul, acoustic and electronic music.

DM Talent Academy by Venezuela Renaciente

DM Talent Academy by Venezuela Renaciente is founded in September 2019 in Denver, under the direction of Diana Meneses Venezuelan professional dancer and the collaboration of a group of Venezuelan enthusiasts who share in common the love for dance, folklore and Venezuelan culture in order to keep their traditions alive abroad.

One of the main objectives of the dance school is to highlight the values and Venezuelan culture within the community, for this reason the school is open to different nationalities, we currently have members from countries such as Mexico, Colombia, Peru and Venezuela.

Konnect Pop

Konnectpop is a community for Korean and Japanese culture promotion. We have a lot of different events throughout the year but provide as many opportunities to our performers as possible. Overall we promote community relationships and lasting friendships though music and performance. If you would like to know more feel free to follow us at Konnectpop on any social media platforms.

In Lak’ech

In Lak’ech Denver Arts is a free after-school program dedicated to increasing access to community-responsive arts education for 5th-12th grade BIPOC youth in systemically underserved neighborhoods of Southwest Denver.

In Lak’ech students grow their skills in dance, drama, music, and visual arts while also teaching them to use the arts as a tool for broadening social awareness, building cross-cultural connections, and inspiring positive social change.

DJ Cyn

Cynthia Mardones, known by her stage name, DJ Cyn has been curating music internationally for over 14 years. DJ Cyn began her career in Breckenridge, Colorado DJing for extreme sporting events, such as X-Games, Dew Tour, and Burton Open. Her career has been a culmination of artist showcases, corporate events, weddings, clubs, and has opened for other artists like Usher, Rob Base, Macy Grey, Tyga, Doja Cat, Miguel, and more.

Renowned for her ability to read the energy of a crowd, Cyn is truly unbound by genre or era. Curating music at culturally driven events, she truly has transformed the way we experience music. She prides herself on being a “one-stop-shop”. Not only does she provide professional DJ services, but she also offers full sound services, lights, staging, and can arrange booking for other DJ’s and bands.
