Art Summer Camps in Denver - 2025 Season has Ended

The 2025 summer camp season is over. Here’s what we did. For over 10 years, we’ve been igniting the passions and talents of 6th to 10th-grade girls and non-binary youth in one-week camps devoted to the arts.  Using the frameworks of playwriting, comedy and fashion design, we dive deep into developing not only artistic skills but also encouraging social and emotional growth. Our fourth and newest camp, Artfully Minded, provides a sampling of different artistic disciplines with an emphasis on building skills around self-compassion and community building.

Led by industry professionals, inspiring guest artists, and supportive community mentors, our campers discover their voices, build confidence, and become agents of change—both within themselves and in the world around them.  Girls Create amplifies the journey of creation, not just the final product, ensuring that every moment of learning and exploration is valued.

Each week of our camp culminates in a delightful showcase, where friends and family are invited to witness the campers’ hard work and talent. This Friday celebration is a cherished moment for everyone—highlighting creativity, collaboration, and achievement!

Camp tuition starts at just $300 per week and covers all materials and supplies. Snacks are included; campers are asked to bring lunches and water bottles.   All camps are in-person, running from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at designated locations.

A limited number of full and partial scholarships were available; click this Scholarship Application to apply for a Scholarship.  For any other questions, please contact [email protected].

Denver Playwriting Summer Camp

Girls Write immerses our campers in playwriting.  Teaching professionals guide them through the fundamentals, using improv and sample scripts for inspiration.  Mentors provide cheerleading and encouragement, supporting each camper’s ideas and leading them to the creation of a short play.  At the end of the week,  professional actors and directors bring each story to life in front of a supportive audience made up of family and friends. As they develop creative tools for storytelling, the campers gain confidence in their unique voices and experience the joy of collaborating with others.

Denver Stand-Up Comedy Summer Camp

Girls Stand Up introduces the campers to professional comedians and mentors teach the basics of putting together a comedy set. This is all about story-telling! In a nurturing, safe environment, the campers are encouraged to find their own unique voices. They will be inspired through improv, mask-making, dream boards and more. At the end of the week, each camper will perform a comedy set before a supportive and kind audience made up of their families and friends.

Denver Fashion Design Summer Camps

Girls Design Fashion nurtures self-expression through fashion!   Even without using sewing machines, campers explore design with color, form and inspiration. Instead, the campers explore design, color, form and inspiration.  Our teaching professional and guest artists will talk about different fashion occupations, design techniques, upcycling and the importance of sustainability.  The campers will learn about basic hand stitches, pattern use, sketching and design, creating their own illustrations, dream boards and fashions. At the end of the week, each camper may show off a favorite design, upcycle project or outfit at a fashion show for family and friends. It’s a great way to top off this week of confidence and community building!

Denver Art & Wellness Summer Camps

Artfully Minded campers explore a variety of art forms including visual art, movement, writing, improv, and spoken word. With the guidance of guest artists, our campers will discover first-hand how art establishes a foundation for the development of empathy for others and self-compassion for themselves. They will learn to use the arts as powerful tools for transformation, healing, and community.

At Girls Create, we believe that “Girl” means many things and can be a complicated term. We recognize that the term “Girl” does not automatically include all aspects of the gender spectrum that is welcome at camp. We want to create a safer space for the expression and growth for all girls, trans and gender-nonconforming individuals. We ask for pronouns because we don’t want to assume anyone’s gender identity! If you are comfortable sharing please do, if not that’s ok too. Knowing your preferred pronoun helps us to address you in the way most comfortable for you.
