Calling all actors for our 2022 Plays in Progress Series!
Athena Project Arts is producing four brand new table readings for this year’s Plays In Progress Series. We are looking for 18 actors across all demographics (age range 16-50s) to showcase these original plays. Athena Project’s annual Plays In Progress Series will be June 4th and 5th as in-person table readings and talkbacks, featuring incredible playwrights, directors, dramaturgs, and actors from across the country. The Series will take place at the Aurora Fox Arts Center and seeks to uplift the voices of women* artists while enriching patron’s understanding of the new play development process.
To submit an audition: Film a 1-2 minute monologue (professional quality not required). Choose a monologue that you feel best showcases your strengths. Once filmed, fill out this audition form**, making sure to attach your resume, headshot, and audition video. You will be contacted within two weeks of your audition submission. There will not be callbacks or in-person auditions offered for this year’s series. All actors will receive notification whether or not a role is offered.
Deadline to submit: Midnight on May 15, 2022
Time commitment: We ask that you read through the script at least once before performance weekend. Specific time slots are two hours prior to showtime (90-minute rehearsal and 30-minute break) plus performance time and post-show talk. Shows perform at 2pm and 7pm on both June 4th and 5th.
Stipend: $100. (Actors will need to submit a W-9 upon being cast to receive payment. Payments will be made the day of performance.)
Equity: Contracts are available.
