Join Athena Project for the delayed-but-still-fabulous 12th Annual Cocktails & Comedy Fundraiser at Town Hall Collaborative, located in Denver at 525 Santa Fe Drive, Denver, CO on Thursday, May 16th. Doors open at 6pm and the event begins at 6:30 pm. Tickets for the general public are $75 in advance and $80 at the door. Special artist rate of $25/person with proof of a business card, website, or headshot/resume at the door. Beads to enter games and win a chance for prizes are $25.

Janae Burris is a comedian, actor and event host as well as former cohost of The Denver Post’s Cannabist Show. She is a South Los Angeles native and a California Institute of the Arts alumna. Janae has worked with Local Theater Company, Colorado Shakespeare Fest, The Denver Center for Performing Arts and recently closed a starring role in Queens Girl in The World at Aurora Fox Theater. She’s opened for Michael Che, Roy Wood Jr., Beth Stelling and Josh Blue to name a few. Janae has performed at Just For Laughs Montreal, Portland’s Bridgetown Comedy Festival, High Plains Comedy Festival and has headlined at Aspen Laugh Fest. She is a Comedy Works “Pro”, the first black woman promoted to the highly respected list, and was crowned Comedy Works New Faces Champ in 2016. Janae was chosen to receive a grant through Spotify’s Sound Up Podcast Bootcamp and is currently developing her podcast Dead Daddy Issues. Janae is also a proud camp counselor for Athena Project where she teaches stand up comedy to teenage girls.

Debbie Scheer is an auctioneer, emcee, humorist and single mom of two boys so she identifies as primarily tired! She is the co-producer and co-host of Broadsided Comedy: An Estrogen Fueled Comedy Show and the producer of Track Suit Chronicles: Stories for the Long Haul. Athena Project in collaboration with Denver Milk Market and Dairy Block have curated an art installation exhibit taking place March 8-31 inside of Denver Milk Market. The theme of the Installation is Women in Their Infinite Forms. Artists have been commissioned to design and build their interpretation of this theme using a table top lamp as the base of the artwork.
