Artful Reflections – March 26, 2024

Artful Reflections is Athena Project’s latest program, designed to uplift an artist who is a woman or underrepresented gender. Because the pandemic led to isolation and disconnection, we offer this opportunity to connect artists with each other and their communities.

This monthly event, open to artists and non artists, invites reflection about the art work. Through the participants’ experience of the art, and the moderated conversations that follow, connection and community is strengthened.

Taking place at a gallery owned or curated by an artist who is a woman or an underrepresented gender, participants have the opportunity to let the art in as a way to increase understanding of themselves and others. Featured artists are invited to listen to the impact of their art.

Join us for our next iteration of this program, at The Stranded Pilgrim located in the Denver Milk Market on Tuesday, March 26, 2024 from 6:30-8:30 pm.

*Athena Project recognizes that gender and identity are part of a spectrum and can be complex topics. We welcome dialogue and questions. We also wish to create a safer space for the expression and growth of all women and underrepresented identities including trans, intersex, nonbinary and genderfluid people who are also members of the LGBTQIA+ community.

Artist Details

Lucia DiVieste Severtson, is a licensed psychotherapist, dance movement therapist, and aspiring drama therapist. Passionate about empowering women facing anxiety and depression, she founded The Brave Women’s Transformation Project, a private practice combining traditional psychotherapy and creative arts therapies. Lucia is also the driving force behind The Brave Women’s Community Theatre, a Colorado-based 501(c)3 organization dedicated to helping women and girls build confidence and unleash creativity through dramatherapy and other arts therapies.
