Join Athena Project for a family-friendly event in collaboration with Colfax Canvas Mural Festival! Using musicians in pedicabs and a mobile stage with performers on it, we’re hosting artBURSTS, free pop-up performances for audiences to experience the joy a burst of art brings.
Saturday, September 4, 2021 from 11 am-3 pm
During this event, 7 pedicabbers are transporting the jazz band, Guerrilla Fanfare, along with a mobile stage brought to us by Handsome Little Devils. Performing on the mobile stage will be more women musicians like singer/songwriter Emelise, dancers, and a comedian and/or spoken word artist.
This is the latest series of events highlighting women artists in our Curating Art for Impact program, which produces impactful and unique art with community partners. We uplift women artists and Colfax Canvas is on a mission to beautify the neighborhood while showcasing the creativity of local artists, so it’s a welcome opportunity to support each other’s work!
Colfax Canvas Mural Fest Schedule: mobile stage unless noted otherwise. All events take place near The People’s Building in Aurora (specific routes and stops coming soon) with times and artists subject to change.
11:00am-12:30pm – Guerrilla Fanfare (in the pedicabs around Aurora Cultural Arts District)
11:30am – Lannie Shelton (violinist)
12:30pm – Anna Marie High (solo singer)
2:30pm – Emelise (singer/songwriter)
Special thanks to Bonfils-Stanton Foundation and Northwest Aurora Cultural Arts for making this artBURST possible!
