Women’s Equality Day – August 26, 2023

Athena Project is collaborating with Center for Colorado Women’s History to bring a fun, especially curated art event featuring musicians to help celebrate Women’s Equality Day on August 26 to their front and back patio! Join us between 11am-2pm at 1310 Bannock Street in Denver!
This is the latest series of events highlighting women artists in our Curating Art for Impact program, which produces impactful and unique art with community partners. We uplift women artists and PAY THEM for their work, while the Center for Colorado Women’s History is an inspiring institute that connects local stories to the broader stories of women’s history worldwide!
Women’s Equality Day Schedule:
- 11:00am-12:30pm – Roadside Distraction performance (FREE and open to the public)
- 12:30pm-2:00pm – Back to the Mountain performance (FREE and open to the public)
The Artists

Back to the Mountain draws on the strength of the bones of traditional old time and bluegrass music as a platform to explore unique interpretations of these beloved songs. Add to that their haunting, relevant and at times heartbreaking original songs and powerful vocal performances for an entertaining and memorable Colorado music experience.
Roadside Distraction
Musician
Roadside Distraction is a musical act featuring Emily Wilson. They play a variety of fiddle tunes from various cultures. Their 2023 album featured Emily Wilson Gretchen Priest-May and Tim May.
